about

I loved the Korg synthesizer I used for these recordings (I don't remember which model it was) -- the thick, rich, analog textures it was capable of were warmly immersive, velvety, oceanic. These were all comprovisations -- improvised compositions that only required some setting up (of the sonic and textural palette, and of state of mind) before entering the stream. From that point I just followed the flow. The goal was a kind of textured spaciousness not dissimilar from the early German electronic pioneers (early Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Konrad Schnitzler's Kluster, but warmer and less abrasive than the latter and less "sequency" than the former grew to become).

Recorded in the mid to late 1980s and originally issued as a cassette in 1989.
